Veteran actor Nagarjuna, along with his son Naga Chaitanya and daughter-in-law Sobhita Dhulipala, posted updates following their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House on Friday. They were joined by Nagarjuna's wife, Amala Akkineni. During this visit, the family gifted PM Modi the book "Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva," authored by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, which serves as a tribute to Nagarjuna's father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya recently took to Instagram to share a collaborative post featuring themselves alongside their family members and Prime Minister Modi, as they posed for photographs. In one of the images, Sobhita was seen presenting the Prime Minister with kondapalli bommalu, or dancing dolls, while Chaitanya stood beside her with a smile. For this occasion, Sobhita donned a white and gold saree, whereas Chaitanya was attired in a black bandhgala and trousers.

In the accompanying caption, she expressed her gratitude, stating, "I am profoundly thankful to Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for today’s meeting at Parliament House. It was an honour to present ‘Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva’ by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, a tribute to the cinematic legacy of ANR garu. Your acknowledgement of his life's work is a cherished affirmation for our family, fans, and the Indian film community. #ANRLegacy #IndianCinema #ANRLivesOn."

It is worth noting that those familiar with me are aware of my deep affection for kondapalli bommalu, or dancing dolls. My fond memories of these artefacts extend back to my childhood spent at my grandparents' residence in Tenali. I am delighted to have the opportunity to present one as a gift, especially since he is well-versed in this traditional craft and its origins in Andhra Pradesh, she concluded with a smile and a red heart emoji.

This distinguished acknowledgment instills in us a sense of pride and appreciation. #ANRLegacy #InspiringFuture #ANRLivesOn #Annapurna50Years."

During his final Mann Ki Baat address of 2024, PM Modi honored four luminaries of Indian cinema: Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and Tapan Sinha. In his remarks, PM Modi specifically commended Nageswara Rao, stating, "Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu elevated Telugu cinema to unprecedented levels. His films effectively showcased Indian traditions and values."
