Akshay Kumar's Sky Force has received a favourable reception from audiences and is experiencing significant success at the box office. Following its release, the film drew comparisons to Siddharth Anand's Fighter. In a recent interview with Free Press Journal, the director of Sky Force, Abhishek Anil Kapur, addressed these comparisons and expressed his admiration for Siddharth, referring to him as his idol.
Abhishek says he 'looks up to Siddharth
Abhishek expressed his admiration for Siddharth, stating, "I take immense pride in this. I have great respect for Siddharth Anand—he has successfully delivered both Pathaan and Fighter. He is among the most in-demand directors in the nation and one of India's leading filmmakers. Therefore, for a debut director to be compared to someone of his stature fills me with great pride."
He went on to emphasize that it is not appropriate to compare the two films, remarking, "However, I believe it is unjust to juxtapose two films merely because they share an Air Force theme. The fighter is entirely distinct, and our film is also unique. Our narrative is set in 1965, while his film revolves around Balakot but is presented differently. Nevertheless, if comparisons are being made, I take pride in that. Fighter is a blockbuster—I have watched it three times. I admire Hrithik Roshan and Siddharth Anand. So, if I am being compared to my idols, I am grateful—that is wonderful."
