Namrata Shirodkar, a former actress and model, along with her daughter Sitara Ghattamaneni, hosted a press conference in Hyderabad to promote the jewellery brand PMJ Jewels. During the event, the mother-daughter pair addressed various topics, including Sitara's upcoming acting debut, her recent advertisement featuring her father Mahesh, and the film SSMB 29. Recently, Mahesh and Sitara appeared together in a Trends advertisement, where she introduced him to Gen Z slang. When inquired about her experience collaborating with her father, Sitara beamed with joy. She remarked, “I thoroughly enjoyed working with my dad. It’s... I love him. It feels like what we share at home, but even better.”

When Sitara was questioned about her potential debut in Tollywood, she turned to her mother for a response. Namrata replied, “She is only twelve, so I believe there is still time for that.” Sitara has previously shown an interest in acting, and her brother Gautham is pursuing studies in the field in New York, USA. However, she acknowledged her youth and the dilemma of choosing between modeling and acting.

While the mother-daughter duo was open about various topics, they remained tight-lipped regarding a subject of great interest—SS Rajamouli’s forthcoming film SSMB 29 featuring Mahesh. When asked if they could share any details about the film, Namrata opted not to respond, while Sitara stated, “Silence is the best policy.”

Mahesh Babu’s recent work

Following the mixed reception of the 2017 film Spyder, Mahesh Babu enjoyed a series of successful films from 2018 to 2022, including Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi, Sarileru Neekevvaru, and Sarkaru Vaari Paata. In 2024, he appeared in Trivikram Srinivas’ Sankranthi release, Guntur Kaaram, which garnered mixed reviews and did not meet expectations at the box office.

Currently, he is filming Rajamouli’s SSMB 29, featuring Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran as his co-stars. Recently, they completed a shooting schedule in Odisha, during which images and videos of a significant scene were leaked online. Details about the film remain scarce, as the production team has kept information closely guarded. The screenplay is penned by Vijayendra Prasad, and it is set to be an action-adventure drama.
