The fans of Rohit Shetty's cop universe are eagerly awaiting the release of Singham Again, and the anticipation has been building for what feels like forever. The wait will finally end this Diwali when the movie hits the big screen. However, the film grabbed headlines this morning for an unexpected reason. A rumor surfaced suggesting that Salman Khan would make a cameo in the Shetty directorial. Considering that the filmmaker once credited Khan’s Wanted as an inspiration for creating the cop universe and the fact that the film features a massive ensemble of big stars, fans believed the rumor might be true. However, it turns out the speculation was just a hoax.
Is Salman Khan Making a Cameo in Singham Again?
Singham Again stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, and a host of other big names. The movie is being described as the Endgame of the cop universe, where all the characters collide in one cinematic space. But the rumor that Salman Khan is making a cameo took fans by surprise. Now, trade expert Taran Adarsh has debunked the claims, clarifying that Salman Khan will not appear in Singham Again, but will instead make a cameo in Baby John.
On Twitter, Taran Adarsh wrote: "CHULBUL PANDEY IN 'SINGHAM AGAIN'? FALSE NEWS... It seems the rumour mills are working overtime.. Speculation is rife that #Salmankhan's iconic character, #ChulbulPandey, will be making an appearance in #SinghamAgain. Let's stick to the facts: #SinghamAgain will not feature #SalmanKhan / #ChulbulPandey. Dear #Bhai fans, #Salman will light up the screen with a special cameo in #BabyJohn [#Christmas 2024), starring #VarunDhawan, followed by the larger-than-life avatar in #Sikandar [#Eid 2025].”
Rohit Shetty on Creating Singham Again
In a past interview with Hindustan Times, Rohit Shetty reflected on how Wanted, starring Salman Khan, inspired him to create the cop universe. Shetty said: "I'll tell you what. I made Singham because of Wanted. That was a phase when multiplexes had just started gaining popularity. It was 2009, and I was making All The Best. PVR had just opened, and at the time, no one was making mass action films. Then Wanted came along as an underdog."
He added: "I thought, the time has come to make mass entertainers again because even in multiplexes, people were cheering and clapping. So, in 2011, we made Singham."
