2 months ago | 5 Views
Sidhu Moose Wala remains a significant figure for millions of his admirers. Three years following his tragic shooting in Punjab, the artist's music continues to lead the YouTube charts, even after his passing.
New song Lock drops
Sidhu's ninth posthumous release, titled "Lock," was made available on YouTube on Thursday. Within less than 48 hours, the song has amassed an impressive 7.9 million views on the platform. This three-minute composition is crafted by The Kidd and produced by Navkaran Brar, featuring vocals and music performed by Sidhu.
Previous posthumous songs
Lock is not the first posthumous song by Sidhu to achieve immediate acclaim. All eight of his prior posthumous releases have garnered significant popularity. His first release following his death, SYL, was launched just a month after he was fatally shot by gunmen acting on the orders of Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar in Jawaharke village near Mansa. However, SYL was subsequently removed from YouTube after accumulating millions of views and likes due to its contentious content. In this track, Sidhu boldly opposed sharing water resources with any other state concerning the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal.
His second posthumous release, Vaar, which came out in the same year, celebrated the valour of Hari Singh Nalwa, the commander-in-chief of Khalsa Fauj during Maharaja Ranjit Singh's reign. This song has achieved 63 million views on YouTube. The third track, Mera Na, released in 2023, features Nigerian rapper Burna Boy and UK-based music producer Steel Banglez and has reached 70 million views. The fourth song, Chorni, also released in 2023, depicted Sidhu as a fierce Jatt from Punjab's Malwa region, amassing 78 million views.
The fifth posthumous track, Watch Out, released in 2023, has garnered 44 million views. Drippy, featuring Mxcri and AR Paisley, was released last year and has achieved 90 million views. The seventh track, 410, also released last year, has 57 million views. The eighth song, Attach, released in 2024, has 31 million views. Sidhu began his singing career in 2016 but rose to prominence in 2018 with the track So High and his debut album, PBX 1.
