Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's Sky Force is finally out in theaters today (January 24). Just a day before the release, Fighter director Siddharth Anand shared a mysterious message about 'insecurity,' which a lot of people think might be a dig at Akshay’s Sky Force.

Siddharth Anand's mysterious update

On Thursday, Siddharth Anand hopped on X and dropped a mysterious post about 'insecurities reaching a new low.' He said, "Hahaha!! Insecurity is really hitting rock bottom! I’m feeling super important today! Believe in yourself! Let’s go, people!! Remember, an old saying – snuffing out someone else's candle won’t make yours shine any brighter! But oh well…”

Twitter sees it as a jab at Sky Force

The filmmaker didn’t clarify the context of his post, but a lot of Twitter users speculated it was a jab at the comparisons between Fighter and Akshay Kumar's Sky Force. Both films showcase the Indian Air Force, but they tell different stories. One review of Sky Force even pointed out that it was ‘not another Fighter,’ which some folks on social media think might have annoyed Anand.

One user commented, "Who’s going to take the crown? Fighter or Sky Force? Let’s see how they do at the box office!" Another said, "After checking out the trailer, it felt like a mix of Ajay Devgan's Bhuj and Hrithik's Fighter!"

Many people labeled it as an ‘unnecessary’ shot. One tweet noted, "Of course, there will be comparisons when two films have the same theme. If one gets better reviews, just be gracious and appreciate it. No need to feel insecure."

Fighter Overview

Siddharth Anand's Fighter, featuring Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, and Anil Kapoor, had a pretty average reception from viewers but still turned out to be a hit at the box office. The movie tells a fictional tale centered on a rescue mission. It raked in ₹358 crore globally.
