However, a mysterious post from the director on X (formerly Twitter) has led many to think that these rumors might not be accurate.

On Monday, Siddharth shared a brief message on his X account, stating simply, “False.” He didn’t elaborate further, but fans interpreted it as a sign that Deepika might not be part of King, or that she wouldn’t be taking on the role that was rumored. One fan asked, “Does this mean #DeepikaPadukone isn’t in #KING???” Another suggested, “It’s confirmed that Deepika isn’t part of King.” One fan even recommended, “Let’s bring someone from the South Industry.” However, many seemed to agree that the post indicated Deepika wouldn’t be in the film after all.

The buzz around King

Lately, there have been whispers that Deepika is set to team up with Shah Rukh once again for the film King, following their collaboration in Jawan. According to a report from Peeping Moon, she’s expected to portray Suhana’s mother and Shah Rukh’s past love interest. Fans have mixed feelings about this news; some are thrilled, recalling her successful partnership with him since their first film together, Om Shanti Om, while others are less enthusiastic about her taking on a motherly role once more.

Details about King are still scarce, but it’s confirmed that Siddharth will be directing, and both Suhana and Abhishek will join Shah Rukh in the cast. This will mark Suhana’s first appearance in theaters after her debut in Netflix’s The Archies. Additionally, Abhay Verma, known for his role in Munjya, has reportedly joined the project. Filming hasn’t started yet, and a release date is still to be determined.
