Recently, the producers of the forthcoming Telugu film Dacoit, featuring actor Adivi Sesh, revealed that Mrunal Thakur will take on the role of the female lead. She is stepping in for Shruti Haasan, who was initially cast in the role when the film was first announced. While it was widely speculated that Shruti Haasan's departure was due to scheduling conflicts, new information has surfaced suggesting that the involvement of a co-star may have also played a role.
Is this why Shruti Haasan left Dacoit?
Adivi Sesh is currently engaged in the production of the Telugu film Dacoit. The recent announcement confirmed that Mrunal Thakur will now portray the female lead, replacing Shruti Haasan, who was originally slated for the part.
Although the producers have not officially provided reasons for this change, a report from India Today indicates that Shruti Haasan left the project due to "excessive involvement of her co-star," in addition to scheduling issues. According to sources cited in the report, despite having filmed a teaser last year, the shooting schedule was altered. The source further mentioned, without naming individuals, that the co-star's significant input in the script became uncomfortable enough for her to withdraw from the project.
What do we know about Dacoit?
Dacoit is directed by Shaneil Deo and produced by Supriya Yarlagadda. With Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, this film will mark her first collaboration with Adivi Sesh. Adivi has contributed to the screenplay and story alongside the director. The technical team includes cinematographer Danush Bhaskar and music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with Kodati Pavan Kalyan serving as the editor. The release date for the film has not yet been disclosed by the producers.
