Colors Bangla is all set to present a brand new medium for the Bengali audience on television: Limited serials. Shruti Das will be seen in one of these three shows. OTTplay dug out the details of these shows. Here is a lowdown on what to expect.

Colors Bangla’s new format TV show

Colors Bangla has planned to introduce 100-episode television shows that will follow a hybrid model of mega serials and web series. According to sources, the channel decided to start with three such projects with three different directors: Abhimanyu Mukherjee, Abhrajit Sen, and Saurav Chakraborty. Unlike serials, the shooting for these shows will take place in real locations. Each director will present stories of different genres – drama, romance, etc. According to sources, the shows will eventually stream on Jio Cinema.

Shruti Das to be part of this venture

The shooting of Abhimanyu’s show has started. It features Arpan Ghoshal, who shot to fame with his character Dododada from Meyebela. Meanwhile, according to sources, Shruti may debut on TV with one of these three projects. Her show will reportedly be directed by Abhrajit. There has been no confirmation yet as the channel executives and production members have been tight-lipped about the whole project. It was heard that while one shooting was on, the audition for the other two projects had started.

Meanwhile, Shruti has started working on Neeraj Pandey’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. The Netflix show also features Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Chitrangada Satarupa, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Saswata Chatterjee. Earlier this year, Shruti was seen in Debaloy Bhattacharya’s Shri Swapankumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole opposite Abir Chatterjee.

Shruti shot to fame among the Bengali audience with her performance in Srijit Mukherji’s X=Prem in 2022. She has also worked on National projects, including Dr Arora on SonyLiv. She has recently completed an Addatimes web series with Paoli. Now, she seems to have started a brand new venture.
