Tamil television actress Shruthi Narayanan has garnered attention following the circulation of clips purportedly from her casting couch on multiple social media platforms. While rumors suggested that these clips were recorded during an audition, the actress has addressed these allegations, suggesting that they are generated by artificial intelligence and criticizing those who disseminate them.

Shruthi Narayanan addresses alleged video leak

Shruthi shared a reel on her Instagram stories featuring an influencer discussing the simplicity of creating AI-generated videos. Alongside this, she included a message expressing that the entire experience had been distressing for her and her family, urging others to show empathy.

In her message, she stated, “For you, sharing this content about me may seem like a joke or a source of entertainment. However, for me and my loved ones, this is a challenging situation. It is particularly difficult for me, and I find it hard to cope with.” (sic)

Shruthi expressed that those disseminating the video have only exacerbated her situation, stating, “I am a girl too, and I have feelings, as do my loved ones. Your actions only worsen the situation.” She urged individuals not to share it indiscriminately, likening it to spreading ‘wildfire,’ and posed the question of whether they would react similarly if the women in the video were members of their own families.

Shruthi reminds people of legal consequences

In a separate post, Shruthi outlined the legal measures that can be implemented against individuals disseminating her video. She stated, “Embrace your humanity. Distributing leaked videos, regardless of whether they are authentic or deepfake, constitutes a criminal offense in India. Below are the legal provisions that allow for action to be taken.”

Shruthi commenced her professional journey by performing in Tamil television serials, earning acclaim for her roles in programs such as Siragadikka Aasai, broadcast on Star Vijay and available for streaming on JioHotstar. Additionally, she boasts a substantial following on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, Shruti Narayanan, known for her role in Citadel: Honey Bunny, needed to clarify that she was not the Shruthi featured in a video that was circulating online. She addressed this matter in a post on Instagram.
