In a recent discussion, Shreyas Talpade elaborated on the exhilarating yet challenging aspects of voicing Allu Arjun's titular character in Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hindi.
He remarked, "The thrill arises from the difficulties inherent in the task at hand. In Pushpa Part 2, replicating Pushpa’s habitual paan-chewing and drinking scenes with the same level of intensity proved to be quite demanding. Capturing the actor’s emotions and demeanour during these moments while dubbing was a significant challenge, which added to the excitement."
Shreyas Talpade has done vocal exercises
The actor revealed that he has engaged in vocal exercises for his dubbing role. "Once you have mastered this technique, it prevents strain on your vocal cords and helps maintain vocal freshness during extended sessions," he stated.
When inquired about the specific methods Shreyas employed to embody the ruggedness of Pushpa's voice, Talpade explained that in Pushpa Part 2, he gained insight into the character’s development. He noted that while Part 1 showcased Pushpa’s ascent intertwined with vulnerability, Part 2 depicted him asserting his dominance.
"His body language and vocal delivery needed to convey that strength while still retaining a sense of vulnerability. We utilize voice exercises from the theatre, concentrating on voice projection, which proves to be highly beneficial during the dubbing process," Shreyas elaborated.
Pushpa 2: The Rule plot
The continuation of the narrative follows Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun) from the acclaimed 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise. In this sequel, Pushpa Raj has ascended from being a smuggler to a formidable leader within the red sandalwood mafia. He encounters fresh obstacles, notably a rivalry with SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahadh Faasil). In his quest to protect his loved ones, including his niece Kaveri, who has been abducted by an antagonist, Pushpa is determined to take decisive action.
In the meantime, Pushpa 2: The Rule is currently screening at a theater near you, and the film is performing remarkably well at the box office.
