Actors Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim encountered criticism for sharing their latest vlog while providing updates about their safety in light of the strained circumstances after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir. In a recent vlog update on his YouTube channel, Shoaib has now responded to the matter and mentioned that he has been receiving hateful and abusive messages over the past few days.

Shoaib's take on the Pahalgam terror attack

In his vlog, Shoaib addressed the camera directly and spoke about the recent days following the Pahalgam terror attack news. He stated in Hindi, “On April 22, we traveled from Srinagar to Delhi. During our flight, the Pahalgam terror attack took place, and we were completely unaware of it. There was no communication. Once we landed and turned on our phones, we were overwhelmed with messages asking about our well-being. At first, the reports indicated only a few injuries. We felt it was necessary to let our supporters know that we were safe, and in the same moment, I brought up the vlog — but without any aim of promoting it. ”

At that time, I didn't have any information

He further mentioned, “I posted a story stating we are okay and will keep you updated. The commotion that story created… many people, some media outlets, and a few YouTube channels. So, I had no intention of promoting my vlog. It was simply that I did not have the information at that time. Gradually, videos started appearing on social media and I felt bad myself (I posted a story informing we are fine and we will update you. What a stir that caused. It was picked up by media and YouTube channels. It was never my intention to promote the vlog. I did not have the information that time. Once videos started coming in on social media, I myself felt bad). ”

Shoaib further noted that he had received a multitude of hateful messages, a lot of which contained abusive language aimed at his family. He questioned why Dipika and he were singled out regarding this issue. “Why am I the only target? Why is Dipika the target? What makes us special to you? Every single vlogger has posted their videos (Why Dipika and me are being targeted? Are we special for all of you? All the vloggers have put have their videos),” he stated.
