Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar recently engaged in promotional activities for his film 45, alongside Nimma Upendra and Raj B Shetty, in Hyderabad. During the event, he was inquired about his cameo appearance in Nelson Dilipkumar’s 2023 film Jailer, which stars Rajinikanth, especially in light of a sequel being planned. Here is his response.

Shiva Rajkumar shares his wife’s opinion on his cameo in Jailer 

At the press conference, Shiva expressed his surprise at the positive reception of his cameo. He remarked, "Regarding 'Jailer,' I honestly did not anticipate this outcome. My involvement was primarily due to Rajini sir; I have admired him since childhood, and he feels like family to me. When I was approached for his film, I felt compelled to accept without hesitation. Even a brief appearance would suffice; I had no objections. I didn't even inquire about the storyline; his presence alone is enough for me, as he represents a father figure in my life. Nelson shared the story with me, and I had no further questions."

He further mentioned that his wife, Geetha, remarked that all he did was move a tissue box and smoke a cigar. "I still can't comprehend how that look became so impactful. On the first day after my release, my friends were calling me, asking, 'What’s going on, buddy?' I was perplexed since I only had two scenes. They responded with enthusiasm, saying, 'Great job, buddy.' Even now, my wife inquires about my role in Jailer, saying, 'All you did was walk around with a cigar and push a tissue box.' I never anticipated that the tissue would become such a significant topic. I owe my gratitude to the cameraman, the director, and Anirudh for providing such excellent music, which resonated everywhere."

Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan are once again collaborating with Nelson for the filming of Jailer 2 in Kerala. The cameo appearances of Shiva and Mammootty in the original Jailer gained significant attention on social media upon the film's release. Jailer 2 is being produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, and SJ Suryah will be joining the cast. Details regarding the star cameos in the sequel have not yet been disclosed.
