Shilpa Shirodkar recently took part in Salman Khan's reality show, Bigg Boss 18. Throughout her 102-day experience, she garnered praise for the strong relationships she formed within the house. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Shilpa discussed the absence of support from her brother-in-law, Mahesh Babu, on social media, which some speculated might have influenced her chances of winning.
Shilpa defends Mahesh Babu
When questioned about her feelings regarding Mahesh Babu's lack of a supportive tweet following her eviction from Bigg Boss, Shilpa Shirodkar responded, “The strength of relationships should not be measured by social media activity. I find this notion perplexing. They do not need to express their pride in me through online posts; our family dynamics do not revolve around public displays of affection. I entered the house as my own person, not merely as Namrata’s sister or Mahesh’s sister-in-law. While he is indeed a superstar with significant fame, that does not obligate him to be involved in my professional journey.”
She further addressed the notion that Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, are perceived as distant or unapproachable. “Mahesh and Namrata are inherently private individuals, and society is quick to label them as arrogant. Although Mahesh is reserved, he is genuinely kind and approachable. He may be quiet, but he is always available to lend support when needed.”
During Shilpa Shirodkar’s time on Bigg Boss 18, her sister, Namrata Shirodkar, and her niece, Sitara, made appeals for votes on her behalf, while Mahesh Babu did not engage in similar social media activity.
