
Shihan Hussaini, Tamil Actor and Martial Artist, Dies of Blood Cancer

Actor Shihan Hussaini passed away from blood cancer at a hospital in Chennai, as confirmed by his family on Tuesday. They announced on Facebook that his body would be held at his residence in Besant Nagar until the evening.

The announcement stated, "It is with great sadness that I share the news of HU's passing. He will be at the High Command, his residence in Besant Nagar, until this evening. --Hussaini and family, Kamana/Mahima." Another message conveyed, "Dear archers, parents, and coaches, those who wish to pay their respects at HU's home to view his remains are encouraged to wear their uniforms (any color is acceptable). If possible, please bring your bow and arrow to shoot a few arrows."
"His remains will be at the High Command until 7 PM. All archers are invited to shoot a few arrows at 5 PM, during which HU will be present in spirit. Karate practitioners are requested to gather at 3 PM in their Gi to perform katas, with HU overseeing the session through his remains. After 7 PM, his remains will be transported to Madurai," the message continued.
Shihan had donated his body for medical research
Earlier this month, Shihan announced in a Facebook post that he had pledged his body for medical research. A portion of the post stated, "I have signed the agreement. This will be utilized for educational purposes in anatomy for medical students. I am extremely pleased to continue contributing to education even after my passing. 'Preparing for death but not surrendering'."

Shihan began his acting career with K Balachander's film Punnagai Mannan. He appeared in several other productions, including Velaikaran, Unnai Solli Kutramillai, Vedan, My India, Badri, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, and Chennai City Gangsters, among others. Additionally, he contributed to the Hollywood film Bloodstone (1988).
Recently, he served as the host for the television program Athiradi Samayal and was a judge on the Tamil reality show Vellum Thiramai. He was also recognized for his expressions of loyalty towards the late politician Jayalalitha. Furthermore, Shihan is a skilled karate practitioner.
