In a recent episode of her eponymous show, the 57-year-old commentator criticized Julia Fox, Megan Thee Stallion, and several other celebrities for their bold fashion choices at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Shepherd began by expressing her astonishment at the extent to which the women revealed themselves on the red carpet, remarking that it was nearly too risqué for daytime television. She specifically pointed out Fox, who nearly exposed everything in a sheer outfit adorned with faux hair strategically placed. “It was quite alarming — Julia Fox donned a completely transparent dress that offered minimal coverage,” the host commented.

Shepherd further criticized Zoë Kravitz's provocative black dress, which featured a sheer heart-shaped cut-out at her hips. “Zoë Kravitz presented us with a glimpse of her backside,” the comedian remarked, adding, “Everything was visible.” The talk show host also highlighted the rapper's daring choice of a topless green feathered outfit. “Megan Thee Stallion appeared in a dark green gown, complemented only by matching green pasties to conceal her breasts,” she noted.

Expressing her views on these bold fashion choices, Shepherd stated, “This is where I must don my Auntie Sherri persona, and I say this with all due affection: ladies, this is not appropriate.” She emphasized the influence these celebrities have on young women and girls who look up to them, warning that they might imitate such styles.

However, Shepherd clarified that her intention was not to shame anyone but to raise awareness about the potential negative impact of sheer clothing trends. She also referenced Bianca Censori's provocative appearance at the Grammys, where she wore a completely transparent dress.

“It wasn’t merely her cookie jar that was visible — we also saw cakes and croissants,” Shepherd remarked, adding that she felt Kanye West's wife appeared quite uncomfortable. “I have great affection for all of you, but Auntie Sherri has made her point,” the author concluded, urging the celebrities to consider, “Who am I influencing? Who will be watching me? You never know.”
