Ranvir Shorey on the rising entourage costs
In conversation with us, Ranvir Shorey shared his take on the rising entourage costs and how it is not fair to the producers. The actor told OTTplay, "I am a more frugal person and I am not extravagant with my demands. Of course, there are certain things which you ask for, which are basic amenities that you would enjoy at home also."
He further mentioned, "I don't think it is fair on the producers, for actors and stars to have such entourage costs. Because producers are the ones who take the initiative of making a project. I don't think it is fair to them. I definitely don't indulge in it and (don't) encourage it."
Ranvir Shorey discusses his new series Shekhar Home
As the conversation continued, Ranvir said everything about Shekhar Home was attractive to him. "It is an Indian homegrown detective series, set in (West) Bengal with Srijit Mukerji directing it and Kay Kay Menon playing the lead. I had a great part in it. Everything about this was attractive to me," he said. The actor added that he had been waiting for this show to be released for a while.
"In fact, if it was released before I went inside the Bigg Boss OTT 3 house, I probably wouldn't have gone inside the Bigg Boss house," quipped Shorey.
Further talking about his character Jayvrat in the series, the actor stated, "One thing which I share with Jayvrat in my personal life is that when I see somebody who is good at something, I am open in my praise of them. And if somebody is good at something, I am open to letting them lead at it. I don't suffer from (things like) 'ye kyu bol raha hain?' I think that is something I have in common with Jayvrat."
Shekhar Home will premiere on JioCinema on August 14, 2024.
