During an event hosted by Indian Express in July 2024, director Imtiaz Ali humorously addressed a question regarding the current status of Geet and Aditya, eliciting laughter from the audience. Recently, Shahid shared his thoughts on the fate of the iconic duo from Jab We Met.

While attending the event, Shahid Kapoor recalled Imtiaz's earlier remarks. He expressed amusement at the notion of Geet and Aditya experiencing a breakup, noting their apparent animosity towards one another. Shahid humorously suggested that Aditya might remark, "She is her own favorite; who could possibly tolerate her?"

In response to fans who expressed heartbreak over his comments, Shahid quickly clarified that if the filmmaker envisions a divorce for the characters, he has no place to contest that narrative, emphasizing that acting is his sole profession.

Jab We Met: Cult classic despite a small budget

Released on October 26, 2007, Jab We Met received widespread acclaim from critics. With a modest budget of merely Rs 15 crore, the film grossed over Rs 50 crore at the box office, securing its status as a favorite among many.

The storyline follows Aditya, a wealthy but despondent industrialist portrayed by Shahid Kapoor, who boards a train without a ticket in an attempt to escape his bleak life. He encounters the lively and optimistic Geet (Kareena Kapoor Khan), who is determined to help him open up. The narrative unfolds as they navigate a series of adventures, showcasing a woman who seems perpetually in trouble and a man who feels compelled to safeguard her.

Shahid Kapoor's upcoming film Deva

Shahid Kapoor is currently in preparation for his forthcoming film, Deva. Directed by Rosshan Andrews, the movie showcases Shahid in the role of a ruthless police officer.
