2 months ago | 5 Views
Shahid Kapoor is really going all out to promote his much-awaited action thriller, Deva. During a chat on Raj Shamani's podcast, the Bollywood actor opened up about his unyielding ambition to succeed, even after being in the film industry for twenty years. He mentioned that he still feels the pressure to prove himself with each new character he plays, a mentality that stems from his early days as a struggling actor.
Shahid believes that actors need to acknowledge and appreciate their privilege
Shahid Kapoor opened up during the chat, sharing that he’s never really satisfied with himself. When asked if he still feels the pressure to prove himself with each new role, he said, “Absolutely, I still feel that way. After going through 250 to 300 auditions and seeing how people look at you, weighing whether to cast you, you start to understand that your work is solid. Getting that spotlight is a real privilege. So many don’t get that chance. If you don’t appreciate that privilege, you probably don’t belong there. That spotlight should be treated like a sacred space. It’s something special, and you’re lucky to be in it.”

Looking back on his 20-year career that kicked off with Ishq Vishk in 2003, Shahid shared that his path has been all about learning and finding himself. “After 21 years, I’ve realized that there’s no one who’s better or worse. I’m just the best version of me,” he said with confidence, emphasizing how much he’s evolved as an artist.
