Shahid Kapoor addressed the incident involving his Rangoon co-star Saif Ali Khan on Friday. Khan, aged 54, was attacked by an intruder in his high-rise apartment, suffering six stab wounds, one of which was to his neck. The assault occurred at approximately 2:30 am on Thursday. After undergoing emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital, medical professionals have confirmed that he is now out of danger.

We sincerely wish for Saif's improved health and well-being. The entire situation has left us in disbelief, particularly given the personal nature of the events that transpired. It is challenging to comprehend such occurrences in a city like Mumbai. I have confidence that the police are exerting their utmost efforts in this matter, Shahid Kapoor remarked during the trailer launch of his latest film, Deva.

Kapoor conveyed his astonishment regarding the incident, noting, "Mumbai is generally regarded as a very secure city. It is considered safe for family members or women to be out at 2 a.m. This incident is truly shocking. We are continuously hoping and praying for his swift recovery."

Khan and Kapoor previously collaborated in Vishal Bhardwaj's 2017 historical film Rangoon, which featured Kangana Ranaut as well.

At the event, a journalist inquired of Kapoor how he would respond to assaults on celebrities if he were a police officer in real life, alluding to his portrayal of a police officer in Deva. Kapoor replied, "What you are mentioning is indeed a tragic occurrence. We are all quite concerned within the industry. You posed the question indirectly. Had you approached me directly, I would have appreciated it more."

Following the attack at his residence in Bandra, Khan underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. According to medical professionals, he is now being transferred from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a private room. On Friday morning, the Mumbai police apprehended a suspect linked to the assault.
