Shahid Kapoor Reflects on Feeling Undervalued Before Kabir Singh: "I Was Put in Difficult Situations"
1 month ago | 5 Views
Shahid Kapoor is a big name in the industry, showcasing his talent as both an actor and a star over his long career. Right now, he’s focused on promoting his new movie Deva, set to hit theaters next week. In a chat with Raj Shamani on his podcast, Shahid opened up about a time before Kabir Singh when he felt a bit ‘lesser’ as a star.
Shahid's comments
During the conversation, Shahid shared, "This happened to me before Kabir Singh. I felt like I was less than what I truly am. It was like I was made to feel inferior as an artist and a star. Nobody pushed me into it, but the situation made me feel that way. I’ll never accept that."
Your outfits are way cooler than mine
He went on to explain, "It’s like your outfit is cooler than mine. It’s all about comparison. Sometimes life puts you in situations where you’re close to someone and it makes you feel inferior. It’s not anyone’s fault, and I’m not here to blame anyone. But that’s what I experienced for a while. I felt that way, and I pushed back against it. I’m a survivor."
Before Kabir Singh, Shahid appeared in ensemble films like Padmaavat alongside Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, and Rangoon with Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.
Shahid's next role will be as a cop in Rosshan Andrrews' action thriller Deva, where he’ll act alongside Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, and Kubra Sait. Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Deva is set to hit theaters on January 31.
