A few days following the stabbing of his Rangoon co-star Saif Ali Khan by an intruder in his residence, Shahid Kapoor extended his wishes for a swift recovery. With Saif now back at home after being discharged from Lilavati Hospital, Shahid has shared additional thoughts regarding the incident.

What Shahid said

This situation can occur to anyone. However, Mumbai is widely regarded as a very secure city, and it has consistently maintained this reputation. This particular incident is quite alarming, and it has taken many by surprise. Numerous cities experience similar occurrences, yet they often do not attract significant attention. Nonetheless, such events can affect anyone. I do not wish to imply that celebrities are particularly vulnerable targets, stated Shahid.

"There are many individuals who might find themselves in comparable circumstances. Even if this had involved an ordinary person, our concern should remain the same. The fact that he is a celebrity simply leads to increased discussion about the matter. It is certainly an issue that warrants our attention. The security measures in residential areas must be prioritized. I believe everyone is taken aback by what transpired. We are all relieved to see that he has returned and is in good health," Shahid further remarked.

About the stabbing incident

Saif Ali Khan sustained six stab wounds, including one to his neck, during an attack that occurred at approximately 2:30 AM on January 16. Following an emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital, where he was promptly taken, medical professionals reported that he was no longer in danger. Saif was discharged from the hospital five days post-incident and returned home. The Mumbai Police have apprehended the suspected assailant, a national from Bangladesh, who is currently in custody.

In a related note, Shahid and Saif appeared together in the 2017 historical film Rangoon, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Saif is married to actress Kareena Kapoor, who previously had a relationship with Shahid in the 2000s. On the professional front, Shahid is set to appear in the upcoming projects Deva and another film by Vishal Bhardwaj, while Saif's most recent role was in Devara: Part 1.
