Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has augmented his collection of luxury vehicles by acquiring the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Night Series. This exclusive edition of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 was introduced in India with a starting price of ₹3.71 crore (ex-showroom) and comes equipped with various design upgrades and premium features that distinguish it from the regular model. Notably, this is not Shahid Kapoor's inaugural Maybach, as he already possesses the standard version of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

What makes the Maybach GLS 600 Night Series special?

The Maybach GLS 600 Night Series represents a more exclusive iteration of the standard Maybach GLS 600, with an additional cost of ₹25 lakh. The enhancements are primarily aesthetic, showcasing a dual-tone paint finish in Mojave Silver and Onyx Black. Mercedes-Maybach has opted for a more subdued appearance by reducing chrome elements and substituting them with blacked-out features.

Notable exterior elements include a blacked-out grille adorned with a darker Maybach emblem, rose gold accents integrated into the headlights, and 22-inch all-black Maybach alloy wheels featuring a distinctive design. Additionally, dark chrome Maybach badging is present on the C-pillars, complemented by discreet ‘Night Series’ branding on the exterior.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Night Series: Interior and features

The interior of the Maybach GLS 600 Night Series embraces a sophisticated and darker aesthetic. The cabin is adorned with Manufaktur Black Pearl Nappa leather, enhanced by open-pore wood trim and aluminium accents.

Noteworthy interior features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by MBUX software, a 12.3-inch digital driver display showcasing a unique ‘Night Series’ animation, and a rear-seat entertainment system equipped with dual 11.6-inch touchscreens. The audio experience is elevated by a 590-watt Burmester 3D surround sound system comprising 27 speakers, complemented by 64-color ambient lighting. The rear seats are electronically adjustable and recline, offering a massage function, while a chauffeur package allows the front passenger seat to be moved forward for additional legroom. A panoramic sunroof with electronic blinds further enhances the luxurious atmosphere.

The Maybach GLS 600 is also equipped with Energizing Comfort Control, which harmonizes ambient lighting, climate settings, and seat massage functions to foster a serene cabin environment.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Night Series: Engine and Performance

Beneath the hood of the Maybach GLS 600 Night Series lies a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, generating 542 bhp and 730 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, it incorporates a 48V EQ Boost mild-hybrid system that contributes an extra 21 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.

This powertrain is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and features Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.9 seconds. The vehicle is also equipped with adaptive air suspension, specifically tuned for Maybach, ensuring a luxurious ride, along with E-Active Body Control that monitors the road and adjusts the suspension for optimal comfort.
