Shah Rukh Khan's famous Mumbai bungalow, Mannat, is gearing up for some renovations this summer. Reports say that he and his family will temporarily relocate from their iconic Bandra home to kick off the renovation and extension work. But it looks like things have hit a snag. An activist has raised concerns about potential violations in the renovation plans and is calling on the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to intervene and halt the project.

Shah Rukh Khan is facing some serious allegations

Social activist Santosh Daundkar has taken his concerns to the NGT, alleging that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) have violated regulations while trying to get the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for renovations at Mannat. Since the bungalow is classified as a Grade III heritage site, any changes to its structure require proper permissions.

According to the report, Shah Rukh plans to expand the six-story bungalow by adding two more floors. The appeal also accuses him of committing fraud by combining twelve 1-BHK flats meant for mass housing into a single family residence.

NGT is requesting the activist to provide evidence

The NGT has asked Daundkar to provide evidence for their claims. "If the Project Proponent or the MCZMA has violated any of the procedures mentioned, the appellant needs to submit that along with supporting evidence within four weeks. If they don’t, we’ll have no choice but to dismiss the appeal right at the admission stage for not following the Tribunal's order," said Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni. The NGT will take up the case again on April 23.
