Actor Shah Rukh Khan attended the Next on Netflix event and spoke about producing his son Aryan Khan’s debut directorial, The Ba**ds of Bollywood. The actor had a mic-drop moment when he called himself a ‘naam ka producer’ and said something that elicited cheers.

Shah Rukh Khan is ‘just a bloody star’

In a discussion regarding his production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, and the collaboration with Netflix for Aryan's web series, Shah Rukh Khan remarked, “Others manage the details; I merely hold the title of producer. My role is quite straightforward. All these producers, directors, writers, and production teams—I am simply a prominent star.” His comment about the music being superior and producers receiving little attention elicited enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Shah Rukh was present at the event wearing an all-black ensemble, with his hair neatly tied back and sporting sunglasses. Having recently appeared in Jawan and Pathaan, he is set to feature in the upcoming film King alongside Suhana and Abhishek Bachchan.

About Aryan Khan’s show

Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment revealed the project last November. A recent video surfaced on social media, showcasing Aryan directing a scene and discussing it with his crew. The Shah Rukh fan club that posted the video commented, “#AryanKhan video from the sets of his debut directorial project The Ba**ds of Bollywood, which is scheduled to stream on Netflix later this year. Aryan appears quite serious.”

The Ba**ds of Bollywood is set within the context of the Indian film industry and chronicles the experiences of aspiring outsider as they traverse the complexities of Bollywood. This six-episode series is said to include guest appearances by notable figures such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Badshah, and Bobby Deol. Aryan completed filming for the series in May of the previous year, and it is anticipated to premiere on Netflix later this year.
