Recently, SRK was spotted at the IIFA 2024 pre-event with Karan Johar in Mumbai. The duo engaged in some fun banter on stage when SRK took a jibe at Karan for hosting more chat shows and award functions than working on films.

Shah Rukh Khan roasts Karan Johar

Shah Rukh Khan will soon be back as the host of the highly awaited award show IIFA. His longtime friend and seasoned filmmaker, Karan Johar, will also be joining SRK. Ahead of the main glitzy event, a pre-event was held in Mumbai, and both Karan and SRK entertained with their fun banter.

During the light-hearted banter, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Karan is too confident about hosting IIFA, citing his previous experiences with anchor gigs and the Koffee With Karan show. So, the filmmaker declined the in-person rehearsal call and instead opted for Zoom rehearsals.

“Bhai main Zoom pe kar lunga... main itna jaldi karta hu. Main toh itna hosting karta hu na (I’ll do it on Zoom, I’m quite fast since I do a lot of hosting),” the Jawan actor shared.

Taking a jibe at this remark, SRK said that Karan should focus on making films rather than hosting gigs. He said, “Chat show bhi host karta hai, film show bhi host karta hai. Picture bhi toh , bana mere bhai tu (You host chat shows as well as film shows but should also make films).

The Koffee With Karan host reacted to this in a positive way as he agreed with what his friend and co-host said. He even shared that it feels a bit wrong on all levels for a filmmaker and that he should be focusing more on movies.

The Pathaan actor arrived in style and oozed glamour at the IIFA 2024 pre-event in Mumbai. SRK sported a sleek, short hairstyle with a black graphic t-shirt, pants and white sneakers. Karan Johar took to his Instagram to share a glimpse of the IIFA event with SRK, along with a heartfelt caption in which he called SRK his bro or Bhai and a Guide. Take a look here:

The IIFA Awards 2024 are slated to be held at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi from September 27 to 29. The glamourous film event promises a weekend packed with glitz and celebrities. Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal will be headlining the awards night with their humorous anchoring.

Meanwhile, SRK and Karan have collaborated on several films together including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
