Abhijeet Bhattacharya stands as one of the most legendary vocalists in the annals of Bollywood. He has performed numerous unforgettable songs for some of the most prominent figures in Indian cinema. His partnerships with Shah Rukh Khan became emblematic of a significant period, producing timeless melodies such as “Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon” and “Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha.” Nevertheless, the artist chose to cease providing his voice for the superstar following their collaborations. In a recent interview, Abhijeet discussed his dispute with SRK, noting that the actor has not released a notable song since their partnership ended.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya talks about Shah Rukh Khan
On Shubhankar Mishra's podcast, Abhijeet Bhattacharya expressed that Shah Rukh Khan had the opportunity to connect with him, not necessarily to offer an apology, but rather to demonstrate a willingness to resolve their differences.
He remarked, "Being older than him, he could have approached me for a hug. I did not anticipate an apology; instead, he could have simply said, 'It's done, let's move forward and collaborate again.' However, individuals tend to overlook my presence. I was not angry; I felt a sense of hurt."
The vocalist also mentioned that following this, Lungi Dance was released, and he chose not to perform it. He noted that after his contributions, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu provided their voices for him, resulting in many unforgettable tracks associated with Shah Rukh Khan.
He remarked that Chak De India does not represent a conventional Shah Rukh album, and the new songs do not reach the level of classics such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Darr, or Yes Boss. "It is not the same," he stated.

Additionally, Abhijeet's son, Jay Bhattacharya, voiced his frustration regarding the public's tendency to recognize only Shah Rukh Khan and overlook his father's contributions when Dua Lipa showcased the popular remix of "Levitating" and "Woh Ladki Jo" during her concert in Mumbai.
He wrote on his Instagram story, “Why has it always been about actors in this country? Yes, Shah Rukh Khan is tha star of the song undoubtedly but there is another man another legend involved! “It is @abhijeetbhattacharya and composed by @anumalikmusic. Im sorry but this song is called woh ladki jo sabse alag hai - Abhijeet wherever you search it but somehow the media in this country never lets a singer get his due and then people ask me why don’t you try and sing for Bollywood.”
