Following his successful partnership with Atlee, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly considering a collaboration with another director from the South. There are indications that he is in discussions with Sukumar, the director of Pushpa 2, regarding a new film. Initially, there were speculations that this project would be a dark and intense psychological thriller. However, recent media reports indicate that the upcoming film will instead be a rural political action drama.

Will Shah Rukh Khan portray an anti-hero in Sukumar's film? 

As per a report, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to adopt a 'raw and rustic' persona in this project. The film is anticipated to tackle various social issues.

"King Khan will take on the role of an anti-hero in this rural political action drama, which aims to present him in a raw, rustic, and culturally authentic manner that merges his widespread appeal with his status as a global superstar. It will also delve into social themes such as caste and class oppression," a source informed the tabloid.

While SRK and Sukumar are seemingly in discussions regarding their upcoming collaboration, it is likely to be some time before they commence work on the project due to their commitments to other ventures. The director is currently engaged with RC17 and a romantic film featuring Ram Charan. Additionally, he is set to work on Allu Arjun's Pushpa 3: The Rampage.

According to sources, SRK has projects such as King and Pathaan 2 in the pipeline. He has informed filmmakers interested in collaborating with him that they will need to wait for a period of two years before he can entertain their proposals. Production for King is scheduled to begin in May, following a continuous shooting plan.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Shah Rukh Khan's next film is titled King. This project will feature his daughter, Suhana Khan, making her on-screen debut alongside him. Suhana entered the acting realm with the Netflix film The Archies in 2023. Throughout the year, SRK had three theatrical releases: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki.
