26 individuals lost their lives and 17 sustained injuries in an alleged terrorist attack targeting tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22. Reuters stated that the police referred to it as ‘the most severe such attack in the nation in almost twenty years’. Numerous celebrities, among them Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Akshay Kumar, have denounced the attack and conveyed their sympathies. Recently, Shah Rukh Khan has written a message regarding the attack and called for justice for this barbaric act.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday afternoon, Shah Rukh Khan stated: “Words cannot capture the sorrow and rage at the betrayal and cruel act of violence that has taken place in Pahalgam. During such times, one can only seek solace in God and offer a prayer for the families that have endured pain and extend my heartfelt sympathies. May we, as a Nation, remain united, resilient and seek justice for this appalling act. ”

About the attack

 The incident occurred on Tuesday at 3 pm when terrorists opened fire on innocent civilians in Pahalgam's Baisaran in Jammu and Kashmir. Gunfire was reported in the vicinity, after which security forces quickly arrived on the scene. At least 26 individuals were killed, and 20 others sustained injuries. PM Modi abbreviated his official visit to Saudi Arabia and went back to Delhi on Wednesday, foregoing the official dinner.

Akshay Kumar took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his thoughts on the attack, stating, “Horrified to know of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Sheer evil to kill innocent people like this. Prayers for their families. ” Anushka Sharma also conveyed her sincere condolences on Instagram, writing, “Heartbroken to hear about the cold-blooded terror attack on innocent people in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Heartfelt, prayers and condolences to their families. This is a heinous attack that will never be forgotten. ”
