The actor addressed the crowd with a brief speech, emphasizing the excitement of the fans that has transformed this event into a true celebration of cricket. Additionally, he shared the stage with Virat Kohli, engaging in a dance together.

Shah Rukh appeared stylish in a blue shirt, complemented by a leather jacket and trousers for the evening event. He remarked During his speech, “If you host the party at Pathan's house, he will undoubtedly come to celebrate and bring firecrackers with him.” He then acknowledged the city of joy and officially commenced the opening ceremony, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Shah Rukh praises Virat Kohli

Following Karan Aujla's performance, he addressed the audience, stating, “Kolkata, how are you? The IPL has transformed many lives over the past 18 years. Nowadays, people don’t just break up; they take strategic timeouts instead. Let’s give a round of applause for the biggest celebration.” He then introduced Virat Kohli, referring to him as the GOAT (Greatest of All Time). The two also engaged in a brief interaction on stage.

He lauded Virat as the original player of the IPL, repeatedly calling out Kohli's name three times and encouraging the audience to join in. Rinku Singh took the stage alongside the actor, and together they danced to his song "Lutt Putt Gaya" from the film Dunki.

Additionally, Shreya Ghoshal delivered a captivating performance at the opening ceremony, while actress Disha Patani captivated the crowd with her dynamic dance routine.
