There is a scene with Shah Rukh Khan in his well-known song Chaand Taare from the 1997 movie Yes Boss, where he performs in front of the home that he currently possesses – Mannat. Director Aziz Mishra remembered in a conversation with Radio Nasha when the actor indicated the house years later in 2001 and informed him he had acquired it.

Shah Rukh Khan always wanted to buy Mannat for Gauri Khan

When it was noted that Mannat appeared in Chaand Taare even prior to Shah Rukh acquiring it, Yes Boss director Aziz remarked, “Yes, he was residing at my place in Devdoot during that time, which is just a few meters from Mannat. He and Gauri were quite young, you know how people say many things in their youth. So every time they passed Mannat, Shah Rukh must’ve indicated and mentioned that one day he’d purchase her the house. Life is great, and it’s fortunate that he made it a reality; I think about that sometimes. ”

He also remembered how, years later, when they were filming at Cafe Seaside, Shah Rukh had pointed out the home to him and informed him he had bought it. “I recall we were shooting a song at Cafe Seaside and he said to me, Aziz, I’ve purchased that house. You could see it from the café. I congratulated him. Yet afterward, he encountered problems with the municipality. Life is full of ups and downs. He faced challenges, but thankfully, everything is fine now. I hope he enjoys happiness in that home with his family,” stated Aziz.

Mannat is getting a makeover

Shah Rukh purchased Mannat in 2001; prior to this, it was owned by Nariman Dubash, a trustee of the Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust. The Khans have recently vacated their residence to enable significant home renovations. They relocated to an upscale apartment complex in the Pali Hill region of Bandra, where they plan to live for about two years.

Shah Rukh is set to soon appear in Siddharth Anand’s King, which will also feature his daughter Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
