Shah Rukh Khan Bids Farewell to Mannat – A New Chapter Begins!
1 month ago | 5 Views
Mannat, the residence of Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai, has become a notable attraction for tourists. The renowned actor and his family have resided in this iconic bungalow for nearly 25 years, situated opposite the well-known Bandra Bandstand, drawing hundreds of fans eager for selfies each day. However, the Khans are set to vacate their home to move into an apartment complex due to extensive renovations currently underway at the bungalow.
Temporary relocation of the Khan family
Sources from HT indicate that the renovation work at Mannat is scheduled to commence in May 2025. This project includes a long-anticipated expansion of the bungalow, for which Shah Rukh has obtained the necessary judicial approvals. Any modifications to Mannat, classified as a Grade III heritage site, require appropriate permissions. Consequently, the Khan family will relocate to a different residence as the refurbishment is set to begin in just over two months.
New residence in Pali Hill
The entire Khan family—comprising wife Gauri, son Aryan, daughter Suhana Khan, and son AbRam—will be moving into a luxurious four-story apartment complex located in the Pali Hill area of Bandra. Reports suggest that Shah Rukh has leased these floors from filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani. The arrangement has been facilitated through a leave and license agreement involving Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu's son, and Deepshika Deshmukh, his daughter and co-owner of Puja Casa, in collaboration with Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment.
Insiders reveal that the four floors will accommodate the Khan family, along with office space, security personnel, and staff. While the new residence may not match the spaciousness of Mannat, it is deemed sufficiently large to accommodate his security team and other employees. The reported rental cost for the four stories is ₹24 lakh per month.
Expected duration of stay
It is said that Shah Rukh Khan and his team are diligently working to ensure the security and privacy of the apartment complex for him and his family. According to a report from the Business Standard, the actor has acquired two duplex apartments located on the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors of the building. A lease agreement for a duration of three years has been established for these residences. While it remains unclear if the Khan family plans to stay for the entire lease period, reports indicate that renovations at Mannat could extend up to two years.
