Sanam Teri Kasam has experienced a remarkable resurgence at the box office following its re-release. The film, featuring Harshvardhan Rane, returned to theatres nine years after its initial debut. It was screened again on February 7, 2025. In light of the success of Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release, rumours regarding a sequel, Sanam Teri Kasam 2, have emerged online. Directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who helmed the original film, have confirmed their intention to create a second instalment. However, producer Deepak Mukut has refuted these assertions.

Sanam Teri Kasam producer on the film's sequel

In an interview with, producer Deepak Mukut emphasized that he holds the right to produce a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam. "As the producer, I own the intellectual property of Sanam Teri Kasam. Therefore, the rights to create a sequel, prequel, or even a remake are exclusively mine," he stated.

The producer disclosed that he announced the sequel, Sanam Teri Kasam 2, in September 2024. However, he has not engaged in any discussions with the filmmaking duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. "They have neither met with me nor communicated regarding this project. I have not yet confirmed a director. It is their responsibility to contact me, particularly since they are discussing the sequel in interviews," Deepak stated.

Regarding the progress of Sanam Teri Kasam 2, Deepak indicated that production will commence once the script is fully completed. While Harshvardhan is set to reprise his role in the sequel, Mawra Hocane will not return. Concerning the leading lady, Mukut mentioned, "We are in search of the perfect actress for the role. She should possess strong acting skills, similar to those of Mawra Hocane in the original film."
