She shared the exciting news on Instagram, showing off a gorgeous and pricey ring while revealing that she said "yes." Even though they got engaged back in August, the couple decided to keep it a secret until now. Rumor has it that they held off on sharing the news due to Gomez's complicated history with her ex, Justin Bieber.

Gomez and Blanco apparently chose not to announce their engagement in August since that was the same month Bieber welcomed his first child with Hailey. A source shared with DailyMail.com, “They got engaged in August, but Selena didn’t want her news to be linked to Bieber at all.” The source added, “Selena was aware that people might say she got engaged just to distract from Justin’s baby news or that she was trying to outshine him.”

Bieber and Gomez’s well-known romance kicked off in 2009 and lasted until 2018, featuring a lot of ups and downs during their time together. The Baby singer popped the question to Hailey in July 2018, and they had a second wedding ceremony in 2019. This year, they welcomed their son, Jack Blue Bieber, as reported by Daily Express US.

On the other hand, Gomez took to Instagram to announce her engagement to her 442 followers, sharing photos and videos from the proposal night. She wrote in the caption, “Forever begins now.”

During a live Twitch stream with Kai Cenat, Blanco shared, “She asked me out.” He went on to say, “We were just chatting, and then she said, 'You wanna grab dinner?” according to Daily Express. Blanco has worked on several of the singer’s hits, including Same Old Love and Kill ‘Em With Kindness.

In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Gomez expressed, “This is the safest I've ever felt in [a relationship], and I see a future with this person,” showing off her confidence in her bond with Blanco. A source told DailyMail.com, “Benny is more than a rock to Selena.”
