Bollywood actress Seema Pahwa, renowned for her performances in movies like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Dream Girl 2, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, among others, mentioned that she may soon exit the industry. During a discussion with Bollywood Thikana, Seema revealed her thoughts on how creative individuals have been overlooked in Bollywood and voiced her dissatisfaction at not being cast in any leading roles despite her talent in acting.

Seema Pahwa mentioned she might step away from the industry soon

Seema pondered how people frequently commend her for her acting abilities. Nonetheless, she has not yet been selected as the lead in any films. She remarked, "Thus, a question emerges in my mind — perhaps I am skilled, but not sufficiently talented for someone to produce a film featuring me in the lead role. There is a feeling of grievance, yet I consider that maybe I have certain limitations, which is the reason I wasn't cast as the lead. Toh main industry se bhut zayada uss peak pe pahunch gayi hun jahan mujhe lag raha hai bhut jldi namaste kardeni hogi industry ko (I have reached a point in the industry where I feel I will soon have to say goodbye to it). The condition of the industry is quite poor at this moment. Creative individuals have been stifled, and entrepreneurs have taken control. They aim to manage the industry with their business approach. However, I don’t believe that we, who have spent so many years in the industry, can operate in this manner. ”

She went on to explain how performers like herself are being excluded from movies because of their ‘outdated thinking’ and stated, "I realize they aim to generate profits, but perhaps they feel they don’t require individuals like us. They exclude us, referring to us as purane log (old-fashioned people), and inform us, ‘Your way of thinking is quite outdated. ’ They assume that solely commercial aspects contribute to a film’s success, rather than the actor or the narrative. "
