Security at Allu Arjun's home got a serious upgrade on Monday after a Hyderabad court decided to grant bail to six individuals who were arrested for reportedly vandalizing his property. This all went down on Sunday during a heated debate over the actor's involvement in the tragic death of a fan at the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The situation also sparked a major political showdown, with the BJP teaming up with the BRS to criticize the Congress government. The BJP claimed that some of the vandals were from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's Kodangal assembly area and suggested a connection between them and the party, pointing to some photos that showed the alleged attackers with party leaders.
Allu Arjun receives notice regarding a fan's death
The actor received a notice to show up at the police station on Tuesday as part of the investigation into the stampede that happened during the screening of Pushpa 2 on December 4, which resulted in a woman's death and injuries to her young son, according to police sources. They've asked him to come in at 11 AM on December 24. Allu Arjun previously mentioned that he would fully cooperate with the investigation.
This notice was issued just a day after police Commissioner C V Anand shared a video detailing what happened at the Sandhya Theatre.
The incident at Allu Arjun's home
Six individuals, who identified themselves as part of the Osmania University - Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), were taken into custody after reportedly vandalizing flower pots and hurling tomatoes at Arjun's home on Sunday evening.
The police arrested them and later brought them before a local court, which granted them bail on Monday.
On the same day, Chief Minister Reddy condemned the incident and instructed the state DGP and city police commissioner to take a firm stance on maintaining law and order. BRS leader T Harish Rao called the event a "total failure of governance," while BJP Lok Sabha member D K Aruna alleged that four of the individuals involved in the vandalism were from Kodangal.
She raised concerns about a possible Congress conspiracy, a claim that the ruling party has denied. Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy argued that it’s unfair to associate the vandals with the Congress party based solely on a few photos, noting that those accused have also been photographed with leaders from other parties.
Allu Arjun's father-in-law, Chandrasekhar Reddy, had a meeting with Deepa Dasmunsi, who is in charge of AICC in Telangana, at Gandhi Bhavan, according to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. But the details of their conversation remain unclear.
Pushpa 2 creators are aiding the stampede victim
On Monday, the team behind Pushpa 2 stepped up to support the family of the woman who tragically lost her life in a stampede during the film's screening on December 4. They provided ₹50 lakh in financial aid.
Producer Naveen Yerneni personally went to the hospital to meet the victim's eight-year-old son, who is currently receiving treatment. He presented a cheque to the family during his visit.
The hospital reported that the boy's vital signs are stable, and he has been taken off oxygen and the ventilator, although his neurological condition remains unchanged.
