Actor Scarlett Johansson recently discussed a provocative moment from Saturday Night Live in which her husband, Colin Jost, made a joke about her anatomy. She expressed her astonishment at the incident.

What Scarlett said

In an interview with In Style, Scarlett recounted the joke, stating, "It was incredibly vulgar; I can hardly believe they went that far. I found it to be quite disgusting—truly gross, in an old-fashioned way."

She further elaborated, “My personal reaction was quite humorous. I thought, it’s just a joke about a vagina, how bad could it really be? But when the Costco photo appeared, I was like, No! No, Michael! The fact that it turned into a full-blown To Catch a Predator-style reveal was overwhelming. Suddenly, there were numerous people with lights and a man with a video camera, all waiting for my response. I felt completely overwhelmed, thinking I might faint.”

What was the joke?

During the live broadcast, in a segment where Michael Che and Colin Jost exchanged jokes during the Weekend Update, Colin remarked, “Costco has taken the roast beef sandwich off their menu. But I’m not bothered. I’ve been having roast beef every night since my wife had the baby.” Scarlett, who was backstage, appeared visibly shocked by the comment, mouthing “Oh my God” in response.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married in 2020 in a private ceremony attended by family and friends after a three-year courtship. They welcomed their first child, a son named Cosmo, in 2021.
