At the launch of the trailer for the eagerly awaited horror-comedy The Bhootnii, director and writer Sidhaant Sachdev reflected on his filmmaking journey and the invaluable mentorship he received from Sanjay Dutt.

Sidhaant expressed his appreciation, stating, "I feel fortunate. From the very beginning, starting with the concept note, Sanju Sir has been a tremendous source of support and guidance. He encouraged me to elevate the genre by incorporating action and romance. Thus, this film transcends a typical horror comedy, evolving into a horror action comedy infused with a captivating romantic twist."

He also commended the impressive cast, which includes Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, Aasif, Nick, and Palak Tiwari. "We are fortunate to have exceptional actors, and the film features authentic action, romance, and a uniquely engaging storyline," he remarked.

Additionally, Sidhaant shared insights gained from his collaboration with Sanjay Dutt and other industry veterans. "The most valuable lessons have come from Sanju Sir. I have also had the privilege of working with Bhatt Sir, from whom I learned significantly as well. One key takeaway is to create films that resonate with your heart. Avoid competing with others or trying to emulate anyone else. If a film lacks authenticity, it will not succeed. Create from the heart," he advised.

He elaborated on his filmmaking philosophy, particularly regarding The Bhootnii. "The film's scale is derived from its narrative. You can amplify the scale as much as you wish, but if the shooting lacks genuine emotion, it won't resonate with the audience. There was no pressure during the production of this film because we created it with true passion," Sidhaant stated.

Sidhaant also highlighted the immersive quality of the film, especially in the horror genre. "Horror is a form of cinema that relies on experience. This is why it succeeds – because it engages the viewer. Likewise, comedy and romance also depend on experiential elements. When crafting a genre like this, everything falls into place naturally," he noted.

In conclusion, Sidhaant expressed gratitude for Sanjay Dutt’s unwavering support throughout the project, remarking, "I began with just a two-page outline. From filming to editing, Sanjay Sir has provided invaluable guidance."

The Bhootnii is set to offer a distinctive combination of horror, action, and romance. Written and directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, the film is produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, featuring performances by Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Singh, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari. It is scheduled for release on April 18, 2025.
