Actor Sanjay Dutt has faced several challenging times in his personal life. One of these challenges was when his first wife Richa Sharma lost her battle with a brain tumor at the age of 32. In a conversation with Vickey Lalwani, Sanjay's sister Priya shared how the actor was affected by this loss and how the family coped with it together.

What Priya mentioned

When discussing the period when Richa Sharma passed away from a brain tumor at such a young age and its effect on Sanjay, Priya remarked, “He has never achieved that stability. It was an incredibly tragic event… Richa… getting diagnosed with a brain tumor at such a young age and then passing away so early. It has genuinely been very difficult for bhaiya. It's not just about how we've had all the bad things happen to us. I always believe that your issues appear overwhelming until you observe someone else’s challenges. By God's grace, we have managed to emerge stronger from every challenge… hua hai problems, I am not saying nahi hua hai (There were many problems, not denying that). We have encountered the worst and we have also experienced the best. ”

He is a strong individual

Continuing about how Sanjay coped with the sorrow and loss, she stated, “But he is a strong individual; he handles situations well. You can’t keep him down for an extended period; he will always bounce back. ”

Sanjay and Richa got married in the US in 1987. Nevertheless, just two years into their marriage, Richa was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away in New York. Sanjay tied the knot with Maanayata Dutt in 2008 and has twins—son Shahraan and daughter Iqra—with her.
