Sandeepa Dhar, an emerging talent in the entertainment sector, recently discussed her role in the series Pyar Ka Professor and provided insights into her acting career. Her honest reflections shed light on her developing journey and the obstacles she has encountered along the way. 

Sandeepa's journey with Pyar Ka Professor commenced with a call from the show's casting director, Mukesh Chhabra. Recalling that pivotal moment, she stated, “Mukesh Chhabra reached out to inform me that they were casting for a new series. There was a character named Malika, a central figure, and he mentioned, ‘I believe you can bring this role to life.’”

Chhabra subsequently sent her three episodes of the series for her consideration, and Sandeepa promptly engaged with the script. “I began reading it, and typically, within the first ten pages, I can discern the quality of the writing. At first, I found Malika to be a peculiar character and formed a judgment about her. However, as I continued to read through the episodes, I recognized that this was a narrative that deserved to be told. This is a character that has not been explored before.”

The character of Malika, who explores her own pleasures and desires within a relationship, resonated deeply with Sandeepa. She remarked, “The series addresses topics that are seldom explored, especially concerning women's pleasure, which is often linked to male desires. The portrayal of the marital dynamic between Malika and her husband was crafted in a beautifully authentic manner. It felt vibrant and genuine. I recognized that this would be a compelling role to embody.”

Nonetheless, the subject matter presented some apprehensions. “I felt a bit anxious because themes like this can be delicate. If not approached with care, they might come off as awkward. However, after discussing it with the director, Akshay, and posing numerous questions, I became convinced that this was a narrative worth sharing,” she added.

Sandeepa’s acting journey has been characterized by ongoing self-examination and development. “There have been highs and lows, along with moments of self-doubt. I frequently question whether I am making the right choices, whether I am on the correct path, and if this is truly my calling. Yet, I have always harbored a passion for acting and dancing. Now, I am finally engaging in the pursuits I have long desired. The individuals I am collaborating with were on my wish list when I began, and I am gradually checking off their names,” she expressed with a smile.

Looking forward to 2024, Sandeepa is enthusiastic about the future. “I have completed filming for three or four projects this year, all of which are set to be released soon. Two films, in particular, are on the horizon, although I cannot disclose much about one of them. One of the films is directed by Laxman Utekar and features Nimrat Kaur, Sunny Kaushal, and Kunal Roy Kapoor. We filmed in Bikaner, and it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The shoot was unforgettable, and I eagerly anticipate audiences seeing it,” she stated.
