Sandeep Reddy Vanga Reveals Naga Chaitanya's Style Inspired Characters in 'Kabir Singh' and 'Animal'

Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi attended the pre-release event of Thandel in Hyderabad. The event also featured director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his works such as Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and Animal. During his address, he expressed his admiration for Chaitanya, revealing that the actor's distinctive long hair and beard in real life served as inspiration for the appearances of the lead characters in his films.
Sandeep's Remarks
“For some reason, there are certain actors with whom you feel a unique connection, even without having met them personally, and Chaitanya is one of those individuals. The way you present yourself and even how you drive your Lamborghini influenced my vision; I instructed my costume designer to draw inspiration from your actual wardrobe for Kabir Singh and Animal. I have never disclosed this before, but I felt it was important to share it today,” he stated in Telugu during his speech.
At the same event, Vanga disclosed that his original intention was to cast Sai Pallavi in the film Arjun Reddy, which featured Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the principal roles. Sandeep is currently directing Spirit, starring Prabhas.

Kabir Singh served as the Hindi adaptation of Arjun Reddy, with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, who adopted a long hair and beard appearance for the character. Similarly, Ranbir Kapoor's character in Vanga's 2023 film Animal also sported this look. Both movies achieved significant success at the box office.
In another development, Chaitanya portrays a fisherman from Srikakulam in the film Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. Produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts and presented by Allu Aravind, Thandel recounts the true story of fishermen who inadvertently drifted into Pakistani waters. The film was originally scheduled for release during Sankranthi but has been postponed to February 7. It will be available in Tamil and Hindi, in addition to Telugu.
