Former actress Sana Khan has become the subject of significant online criticism due to her recent remarks regarding depression in her newly released vlog. In this vlog, Sana discussed her personal experiences related to pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum depression.

What were her words?

In the vlog, Sana shared her personal journey with postpartum depression, emphasizing that new mothers should avoid fixating on their struggles. She advised, “For those facing postpartum depression, try not to dwell on it. Release those thoughts, as they ultimately impact your mental well-being. It is challenging; lifestyle adjustments are necessary, and suddenly there is a new infant beside you who cries at all hours, disrupting your sleep patterns… I have also observed many similar experiences.”

The former actor recommended seeking comfort in spirituality. "I recall experiencing exhaustion and nodding off while tending to the baby. This is quite common; one can feel isolated even in the presence of numerous people at home. I have experienced this as well. However, if you repeatedly affirm to yourself that you are depressed, you will inevitably begin to feel that way. Strive to rise above it; focus on enhancing your spiritual well-being," she remarked.

Indignation within the digital realm.

A segment of social media users, particularly on Reddit, reacted negatively to her remarks, criticizing Sana for her opinions.

One individual commented, “This is incredibly insensitive! It’s akin to advising someone with a broken leg to simply walk it off.” Another user expressed, "I have been struggling with depression for a decade now. Explain to me why repeating ‘nothing is wrong with me’ for years did not aid my recovery. If you lack common sense, please educate yourself or refrain from speaking."

One comment stated, “How foolish can she be?” while another questioned, “Why do she or any other celebrity feel the need to discuss mental health when they lack professional expertise? Who solicited their views?”

Additionally, one user remarked, “It’s easy for you to say that when you have a nanny and numerous servants to handle childcare and household tasks, dismissing the reality of postpartum depression.”

Sana is anticipating the arrival of her second child.

Sana Khan and her spouse, Anas Saiyad, are anticipating the arrival of their second child. Recently, they announced this joyful news to their fans and followers through a joint post on Instagram. The couple welcomed a baby boy on July 5, 2023.

Sana gained prominence for her participation in Bigg Boss 6 and her role in Salman Khan's film Jai Ho. She decided to step away from her acting career prior to her marriage to Anas in November 2020.
