Sameer Wankhede, the ex-zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), was involved in the 2021 operation that led to the arrest of Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan's son. In a recent chat on The Gaurav Thakur Show, Wankhede chose not to address the ongoing controversy, stating he's not keen on engaging with what he called 'third-rate' comments that might have been aimed at him in Shah Rukh's movie Jawan.

Sameer Wankhede's remarks on SRK were intriguing.

During the interview, Sameer was asked about Aryan Khan's arrest and the line from Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 film Jawan that said, "Before touching my son, talk to the father," which seemed to hint at him. Sameer responded, "Look, I don’t want to name anyone and make them famous. The chat leaks are with the honorable High Court, so I’d rather not comment on that."

Conversations by the roadside

He added, "And those dialogues you mentioned… I don’t really watch movies much, so when I hear words like ‘baap’ and ‘beta’, they just come off as really cheap and low-class to me. In our Indian culture, we don’t use such terms. I can’t be expected to stoop to that level and respond to those roadside dialogues."

In 2023, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opened a corruption case against five individuals, including Sameer Wankhede, related to the October 2021 Cordelia cruise drug bust where Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan was arrested. The accused were said to have plotted to extort ₹25 crore from the family of one of the people involved in the drug case in exchange for not filing charges against him, and they allegedly received a bribe of ₹50 lakh. He claimed the accusations were part of a vendetta by certain NCB officials.

On another note, Shah Rukh was recently seen in the film Dunki, while Aryan Khan is gearing up to make his directorial debut next year. Netflix revealed that Aryan's first series will focus on an ‘ambitious outsider navigating the glamorous yet challenging world of Bollywood.’
