Ranveer Allahbadia has issued an apology regarding the recent controversy stemming from his appearance on the controversial program India's Got Latent. In contrast, Samay Raina has remained notably quiet on the issue. Complaints were filed against both individuals on Monday after 'inappropriate' clips from the show circulated widely on social media. It has since come to light that Samay is currently in Seattle, United States, for a stand-up performance.

The controversy erupted following a crude joke made by Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, during an episode of Samay's well-known show India's Got Latent, in which Samay also participated. Ranveer's remark quickly gained traction online, resulting in significant backlash from users on social media. During the episode, the podcaster posed a provocative question to a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents... or join in once and stop it forever?"

Additionally, Balraj Singh Ghai, a frequent judge on India's Got Latent and a producer of the show, has posted images on Instagram featuring himself, Samay, and other team members. These photos depict their time in Seattle for Samay's comedy show, showcasing moments of camaraderie, including Samay engaging in a game of chess with Balraj, performing for an enthusiastic audience, and receiving a warm round of applause.

What's the complaint?

A formal complaint has been submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission, in which the complainant asserts that the program employed offensive language and made inappropriate comments regarding women. The complaint indicates that these remarks were intended to enhance popularity and generate financial gain through online streaming.

Ranveer Allahbadia's apology

Allahbadia subsequently expressed regret for his "inappropriate" comments, which were delivered in an "insensitive" manner during a YouTube episode of the show. He shared an apology via a video on his X account shortly after receiving criticism, stating that "comedy is not his forte" and acknowledging that "it wasn't cool."

Recognizing the inappropriateness of his remarks, the podcaster remarked, "My comment was not only inappropriate, but it also lacked humour. Comedy is not my strength; I am simply here to apologize."

"Clearly, this is not how I intended to utilize this platform. I will refrain from providing any context, justification, or reasoning for my actions. I am solely here to offer my apology. I experienced a lapse in judgment, and it was not acceptable on my part," he further stated.
