Samay Raina and Kusha Kapila became the focus of media attention following the comedian's roast of the actor on Ashish Solanki's program, which generated controversy due to its perceived offensiveness. Several months after this contentious roast, the comedian has acknowledged Kusha in a members-only episode of his show, India’s Got Latent.

Samay mentions Kusha at India's Got Latent

The most recent episode showcased a panel that included Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and The Rebel Kid, also known as Apoorva Makhija. During the introduction of Apoorva, Samay humorously remarked, “Prajakta Koli from Meesho.” Apoorva retorted without hesitation, stating, “Prajakta Koli will never insult you directly.” In response, Samay quipped, “True, but Kusha Kapila might,” concluding with a warm, “Love you, Kusha yaar.”

What happened between Kusha and Samay

In an episode of the comedy series Pretty Good Roast Show Season 1, Kusha took part in a roasting event alongside fellow comedians. However, the night took a negative turn when Samay made jokes that targeted Kusha's marriage and subsequent divorce from Zorawar.

The comedian initiated the roast by labelling Kusha a "gold-digger" and, while mocking her divorce, quipped, “Kusha has a female dog who stays with her half the time, and during the other half, is quite content. Just give the dog to Zorawar. Let him have at least one b**ch in his life,” he stated in Hindi. These remarks ignited controversy, leading many to question whether the roast had ventured into the realm of insensitivity.

Subsequently, Kusha addressed the backlash in a social media post, stating, “Jokes weren’t shared beforehand (as is customary in all roast formats in the West), so I was unaware of what to expect. Perhaps I should have requested a script and been more cautious, but since friends were involved, I didn’t. A rookie mistake. While I endured some of the harsh jokes in front of a live audience and crew, I was absolutely not comfortable with it being broadcast to millions, as some jokes were outright dehumanizing. It was shockingly unkind." Shortly thereafter, she blocked Samay on social media.
