Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is focused on making thoughtful choices both as an actress and a public figure. She recently shared her thoughts on the responsibilities that come with brand endorsements, emphasizing that she has become more selective about which brands align with her values. In a chat with Foodpharmer, she mentioned that over the past year, she has turned down around 15 brands because she aims to make decisions that positively influence others.

What Samantha shared

In the interview, Samantha reflected, “When I first started in this industry in my 20s, success was measured by the number of projects you had, the brands you endorsed, and how many companies wanted you to represent them. I was thrilled that so many big multinational brands wanted me as their ambassador.”

My younger self owes my older self an apology

She continued, “But now I see how wrong I was. I had to take a hard look at my decisions and realized I needed to do what truly feels right. I believe my younger self should say sorry to my older self for all the reckless choices I made. That’s why I want to encourage my younger followers not to think they’re invincible in their 20s. I learned the tough way that they’re not! I turned down nearly 15 brand endorsements just last year, which meant letting go of a lot of money. Now, before I agree to any endorsement, I consult with three doctors to vet the brands.”

Samantha was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease, in 2022. After sharing her diagnosis, she took a break from her career but made her comeback with the Telugu film Kushi.

Most recently, Samantha appeared in Citadel: Hunny Bunny alongside Varun Dhawan. She’s set to star in the highly anticipated web series The Family Man Season 3 by Raj & DK.
