Baba Siddiqui, the former Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader, was shot dead by three men in Mumbai’s Bandra area yesterday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 66. The shooting took place outside his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office in Neelam Nagar. Mumbai's crime branch took over the case and has been rigorously investigating since then. As soon as Baba Siddique's close friend and superstar Salman Khan received the news of his tragic loss, he postponed the shoot of Bigg Boss Season 18 and rushed to Lilavati Hospital to pay his last respects.

Following Baba Siddique's murder, on October 13, a member of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang claimed responsibility in a Facebook post. Salman, who has previously faced multiple death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi, has been placed under heightened security after the gruesome murder of his good friend.

Baba Siddiqui’s murder has sent a shockwave across the nation. While celebrities are mourning the leader’s death, netizens and Bhaijaan fans are worried about the star’s security and well-being. While sharing his videos and pictures from his visit to the hospital, netizens were seen praying for his safety.

One fan tweeted, "Kindly pray for Salman Khan's safety. Lawrence Bishnoi gang takes responsibility for killing Baba Siddique

Recently, a man Shubuu Lonkar Maharashtra wrote a post in Hindi on Facebook, accepting the heinous act publicly. He claimed to be a member of the Lawrence Bishnoy group. His post read, "Om, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat," followed by, "I understand the essence of life, and consider wealth and the body as dust. I did only what was right, honouring the duty of friendship. Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you made our brother lose his life. Today the pool of decency of Baba Siddique is closed or at one time he was under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) with Dawood. The reason for his death was his links to Dawood and Anuj Thapan in Bollywood, politics, and property dealings. We do not have any enmity with anyone but whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order. If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will respond. We never strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs."
