AR Murugadoss is looking forward to the premiere of his upcoming film, Sikandar. Featuring Salman Khan in the leading role, it is among the most eagerly awaited films of the year. The director, known for his work with Aamir Khan in Ghajini, hinted in an interview with The Times of India that Sikandar will include a surprising twist, similar to that of Ghajini.

What Murugadoss said about Sikandar

In the course of the discussion, Murugadoss drew a comparison between Ghajini and Sikandar, stating, “This film transcends being merely a mass entertainer; it delves deeply into familial emotions. While Ghajini focused on a romantic relationship between a boyfriend and girlfriend, this narrative centers on the dynamics of a husband and wife. It examines contemporary family interactions, the treatment of couples towards one another, and highlights what may be lacking in our relationships. This aspect will serve as the film's focal point. Although Ghajini was perceived by audiences as a psychological thriller, the romantic storyline involving Aamir and Asin provided an unexpected twist. In a similar vein, this film incorporates a love element that is sure to resonate with viewers.”

He further stated, "This is a film designed for the masses, built on a solid emotional foundation, much like Ghajini. At first, many perceived Ghajini merely as an action thriller; however, the love story emerged as its emotional centerpiece. In the same vein, Sikandar possesses a surprising element—an intense narrative centered around a husband and wife."

About Ghajini

Ghajini, released in 2008, is the Hindi adaptation of the 2005 Tamil film of the same name. The movie features Aamir Khan and Asin in the principal roles. It narrates the tale of Sanjay Singhania (played by Aamir Khan), a prosperous businessman who experiences anterograde amnesia following an assault on him and his fiancée, Kalpana (portrayed by Asin). Upon its release, the film achieved blockbuster status.

Additionally, Sikandar includes performances by Kajal Aggarwal and Rashmika Mandanna alongside Salman Khan. The film is set to premiere in theaters on March 28.
