Bollywood icon Salman Khan recently unveiled his nephew Ayaan Agnihotri's latest song, "Universal Laws," in Dubai. In a subsequent interview with India Today Digital, Ayaan addressed the issue of nepotism, describing the label as "unfair."

Ayaan Agnihotri on fighting nepotism tag

When questioned about his willingness to confront the nepotism label, Ayaan stated, "To be honest, I don't mind it. Many people seem to be preoccupied with it, but I genuinely believe it is often misinterpreted. This system has been in place throughout history, whether in royal families, business dynasties, or political legacies. Our culture encourages us to support our own and care for our loved ones, which is labeled as nepotism. How is that just? I truly think the term is being misapplied and taken out of context."

He also acknowledged that having a family of artists has guided him in discovering his passion, remarking, "From writers and directors to producers, actors, fashion designers, and stylists, everyone in my family has ventured into the creative realm. It’s quite inspiring. I believe it’s simply in my blood."

When Salman admitted to nepotism

The song launch event was moderated by Kris Fade, who commended Salman and the Khan family for their unwavering support of Ayaan. In a playful moment, Salman quipped, "That's what nepotism is!" His humorous remark elicited laughter from the audience, including Ayaan, who was standing beside him.

Ayaan Agnihotri is the son of Atul Agnihotri and Salman's sister, Alvira Khan Agnihotri. While his sister, Alizeh Agnihotri, made her acting debut in "Farrey" and received significant acclaim, Ayaan has chosen to pursue a career in music. Notably, Salman previously collaborated with Ayaan on the song "You Are Mine," which was composed by Vishal Mishra, featuring rap segments performed by Ayaan.

At the same time, Salman Khan is preparing for the launch of his forthcoming action drama, Sikandar. Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film features prominent actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj in significant roles. It is set to premiere on Eid, specifically on March 28.
