Salman Khan, a prominent figure in Bollywood, has captivated audiences with his films for over thirty years. The actor has delivered numerous successful movies and holds the record for the highest number of entries in the ₹100-crore club. Interestingly, his most successful film was initially turned down by both Aamir Khan and Allu Arjun, ultimately generating ten times its production budget.

Salman Khan's biggest hit

Among the many blockbusters Salman Khan has produced, including Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, his most significant success is Bajrangi Bhaijaan. This film, based on an original narrative by screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad, was co-produced by Salman Khan, Rockline Venkatesh, and Kabir Khan. Upon its release, the film resonated deeply with audiences.

The plot follows Pawan, a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman, who discovers a mute girl in Haryana. Upon realizing that she is from Pakistan, he embarks on a journey to reunite her with her family, facing numerous challenges along the way. The film evoked strong emotional responses from both viewers and critics, solidifying its status as one of Salman Khan's finest works.

Allu Arjun, Aamir Khan rejected Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Before Salman Khan took on the lead role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the project was offered to other actors. Reports indicate that when Kabir Khan approached Aamir Khan, the actor proposed specific changes to the script, which the director did not accept, leading to Aamir's decision to decline the role. Subsequently, Allu Arjun was offered the film but turned it down due to existing commitments.

Featuring Kareena Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film received an overwhelmingly positive reception from audiences, which was reflected in its impressive box office performance. With a production budget of ₹90 crore, Bajrangi Bhaijaan grossed ₹320.34 crore domestically and an astounding ₹922 crore globally, making it one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema history.

Salman Khan has achieved significant success with several of his films, including Tiger Zinda Hai, which grossed ₹588 crore globally against a production budget of ₹210 crore; Sultan, which earned ₹607 crore worldwide with a budget of ₹80 crore; and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which collected ₹405 crore against a budget of ₹60 crore.

Salman Khan's upcoming movie

In terms of future projects, Salman Khan is preparing to captivate audiences with his forthcoming film, Sikandar. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the movie features Rashmika Mandanna and is currently in production. Although the teaser was initially scheduled for release today, coinciding with Salman's 59th birthday, it has been postponed to Saturday, December 27, due to the passing of Manmohan Singh. The film is anticipated to premiere in theaters on Eid 2025.
